Playful performance is de website van Jochem Naafs. Jochem Naafs heeft een MA in zowel Nieuwe media & digitale cultuur als Theaterwetenschap. Hij is een docent, onderzoeker, dramaturg en maker uit Utrecht. Hij is als docent verbonden aan de ArtEZ Bachelor of dance en maakt deel uit van de Research Circle van de Academie voor Theater en Dans en als gastdocent bij de bachelor of dance van Codarts en de Master of Choreography COMMA (Codarts & Fontys).

Tot november 2018 was hij werkzaam als docent en onderzoeker voor HKU. In zijn onderzoek richt hij zich op dit moment op de rol van onderzoek binnen het kunstonderwijs en de potentie van performative research binnen de kunsten. Bij HKU was hij verbonden aan een drietal lectoraten: Performatieve maakprocessen, Kunst en Professionalisering en Research in Creative Practices. Meer over zijn onderzoek naar performative research is te vinden op de website musework.nl. Eerder was hij als docent verbonden aan de Universiteit Utrecht en het Honours Programme van ArtEZ en was hij gastdocent bij de Universität Hildesheim, ArtEZ Dansacademie en Universiteit Gent.

Als dramaturg werkt(e) hij met Stut Theater, Theatergroep Powerboat, regisseurs Suzan Tolsma, Joachim Robbrecht en Michael Pinchbeck, choreografen Jack Gallagher, Minke Elisa Brands en Jessica van Rüschen en circus Diedom. Hij was een van de leden van BIT Dansdramaturgie, een collectief geïnteresseerd in het contextualiseren en delen van ideeën over dansdramaturgie. Hij schrijft poëzie geïnspireerd op dans en maakte diverse (lecture) performances zoals Minotaure! Minotaure, c’est toi!! and Projecting on Der (kommende) Aufstand nach andcompany&Co en de serie Associative Writing and the Lecture Performance.

Hij was als redacteur betrokken bij Moving Meetings Dance en was een van de redacteuren van Danswetenschap in Nederland. Hij schreef diverse artikelen voor onder andere Springdance, Danslab, Dansateliers en pietmondriaan.com.  In 2010 verscheen het cahier Weet het (nog) niet over transdisciplinaire maakprocessen en in 2013 het boek Van geen wijken weten dat hij schreef en samenstelde voor Stut Theater.


Playful performance (English)

Playful performance is the website of Jochem Naafs. Jochem Naafs holds an MA in both New Media Studies and Theatre Studies. He is a lecturer, researcher, dramaturg and live artist based in Utrecht. As a lecturer he is affiliated to ArtEZ Bachelor of Dance and he is a member of the Research Circle of the Academy of Theatre and Dance and as a guest lecturer at the bachelor of dance of Codarts and the Master of Choreography COMMA (Codarts & Fontys).

Previously he was lecturer and researcher at HKU Utrecht University of the Arts. In his research he focusses on the role of research within in arts education and the opportunities of performative research in the arts. He was affiliated to three professorships: Performative Processes, Art and Professionalisation and Research in Creative Practices. Previously he was affiliated to Utrecht University, Honours Programme of ArtEZ Insitute of the Arts. He was guest lecturer at University of Hildesheim, ArtEZ Dance Academy and Ghent University.

As a dramaturg he works and worked with Stut Theater, theatre collective Powerboat, directors Suzan Tolsma, Joachim Robbrecht and Michael Pinchbeck, choreographers Jack Gallagher, Minke Elisa Brands, Jessica van Rüschen and circus Diedom. He is one of the members of BIT dance dramaturgy, a collective interested in contextualizing and sharing ideas about dance dramaturgy. He writes dance inspired poetry and has created various (lecture) performances such as Minotaure! Minotaure, c’est toi!! and Projecting on Der (kommende) Aufstand nach andcompany&Co. and the series Associative Writing and the lecture Performance.

He is one of the editors for Moving Meetings Dance and was editor of Dance Research in the Netherlands. He wrote various articles for Springdance, Danslab, Dansateliers, pietmondriaan.com among others. In 2010 his cahier Weet het (nog) niet on transdisciplinary processes was published and in 2013 Stut Theater published the book Van geen wijken weten which he wrote and edited.
